Leigh holds a BSc (Honours) in Psychology from the University of Wolverhampton with a British Psychological Society (BPS) accreditation, with continuing on her research with studying her PhD, she is a passionate advocate for survivors of domestic abuse and youth violence. Leigh is a councillor for Bilston North with the City of Wolverhampton Council, where she actively supports residents’ rights, improves housing policy, and champions community safety and wellbeing. Leigh’s experience includes previously working as a Senior Leadership Team Complaints Specialist, overseeing complex cases and supporting positive outcomes for individuals facing hardship.
In addition to her council responsibilities, Leigh is a Safeguarding Governor at Wallbrook Primary Academy, promoting mental health and inclusive practices for pupils and staff. She has served as a Student Representative and Wellbeing Champion at the University of Wolverhampton, focusing on advocacy for disabled and neurodivergent students.
Leigh’s wider contribution to the sector includes supporting panel discussions on tenant empowerment, policy change, and community-led initiatives, as well as collaborating on local campaigns to address youth violence. She has helped shape safeguarding and wellbeing policies, worked on school governance strategy, and led efforts to amplify diverse voices in local government and social housing. Leigh brings a commitment to integrity, collaboration, and amplifying vulnerable voices in all her professional endeavours.
