The Leadership Boards of the Centre for the New Midlands provide strategic, industry specific guidance, insight and oversight to support the Centre for the New Midlands (CNM) in achieving its mission to shape policy, drive collaboration, and promote a ‘better’ West Midlands region.

Each of our Leadership Boards consist of upto 10 professionals from across the region (and beyond) who share our ambitions to support policymakers deliver ‘better’ public policy to enhance the way people are able to live their lives and business can thrive.

Each of our core workstreams (Housing and Communities, Digital, Infrastructure & Employability and Skills) are led by their own dedicated Boards and we are actively seeking new members to join the following Boards:

  • Housing and Communities (3 vacancies)
  • Employability and Skills (7 vacancies)

We would encourage you to read our Terms of Reference for the Centre for the New Midlands Leadership Boards – January 2026 before submitting your application.  

The Centre has ambitious plans for growth over the next four years and our Leadership Board members will be expected to play an invaluable role in helping to drive the growth and success of CNM – the only independent, not for profit, non-partisan think tank for the West Midlands region.
